Career award presented by Paolo dalla Chiara, President of Sat Expo, in Venice AEPOC-President Jean Grenier receives award for successful combat against piracy
Venice – September 30th 2005 - The evening of September 29 2005, in occasion of the launch of the new satellite channel "Venice Channel" at Grenier dei Leoni Palace, Guggenheim Museum, the President of Sat Expo Paolo dalla Chiara conferred to Jean Grenier, President of AEPOC (European Association for the Protection of Encrypted Works and Services), the Special Sat Expo Award. Paolo dalla Chiara stated: "I'm happy to give this Career Award to Jean Grenier, an experienced professional with more than 40 years of expertise in the telecommunication sector. Sat Expo, achieving this year its twelfth edition, owes a lot to him and always supported the fight against piracy. I wish that AEPOC will continue the important fight against piracy, actively acting for the enforcement of existing anti-piracy laws and for the implementation of European Conditional Access Directives in member countries." Jean Grenier affirmed: "I'm very satisfied and happy to receive this award, intense has been the work of the Association in the last years. Because of that I would like to extend this special Sat Expo Award to all AEPOC members which know very well the relevance of the fight against piracy." The award was conferred to Jean Grenier for leading with success the AEPOC Association since 1998 and for reaching important goals such as the approval in 2004 of the Bratislava Charter, a code of ethics, approved by the 35 members of AEPOC, which has become a reference point for all operators of the telecommunication sector.
