European Anti-Piracy Association convenes 4th AEPOC Anti-Piracy Symposium and celebrates Association's 10th anniversary in Geneva
Geneva - January 29 2007 - On occasion of AEPOC's 10th anniversary, the European Association for the Protection of Encrypted Works and Services holds its 4th Anti-Piracy Symposium today in Geneva – exactly where AEPOC was officially established 10 years ago at the headquarters of the European Broadcasting Union. Since AEPOC's foundation in 1997 the European television markets have seen important achievements in the fight against audio-visual and media piracy – ranging from EU legislation and law enforcement to successful partnerships and industry co-operation on a world-wide scale. However, looking at the continuously evolving environment of today's information society, the phenomenon of illegal access to pay services will require all stakeholders of the digital value chain to develop an end-to-end framework – in order to meet the security challenge of the content everywhere reality, enabling and securing a sustainable growth of the digital landscape. The conference discusses recent developments and future needs in all of AEPOC's fields of concern in the combat against piracy to enable a secure and sustainable scenario for the future of the European market field. AEPOC's 35 companies strong membership basis - representing the leading digital television and telecommunication players across Europe and beyond - provide an in-depth information platform about latest trends and arising challenges from the industry standpoint. Moreover, AEPOC announces the latest decisions of the Association's Board of Directors. The 4th Anti-Piracy Symposium and 10 Years anniversary will also be the occasion for AEPOC to officially introduce a new logo and key visual underlining the Association's commitment to support the fascinating opportunities of the ever increasing content universe for all legitimate uses - while strongly fighting digital media piracy and the crimes associated to it.
