13th edition of SAT Expo, September 28 - 30 in Vicenza, Italy - As already in place since many years, also in this edition the cooperation between AEPOC and SAT Expo shall provide reliable information to the operators and important communication tools vis-à-vis the public opinion and the political institutions. More information on SAT Expo 2006 is available here.

With the opening of global content event Mipcom on October 9 in Cannes, the new AEPOC Special Issue of Euromedia will present a comprehensive overview to catch-up with the latest headlines, positions and challenges in the combat against audio-visual piracy. Copies will be available at Mipcom and can be obtained free of charge from AEPOC.

In view of audio-visual piracy becoming increasingly an international issue with cases of piracy and copyright fraud originating from outside EU countries, AEPOC will further increase initiatives of international cooperation. In this context AEPOC plans to hold its 4th Anti-Piracy Symposium in collaboration with the 3rd Global Congress on Combating Counterfeiting and Piracy to take place on January 30 - 31 in Geneva. The Congress is convened by the World Intellectual Property Organization, Interpol and the World Customs Organization, with the support and participation of the world business community, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and its BASCAP initiative: Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy responds to the threat of counterfeiting and piracy. The ICC has launched BASCAP to connect all business sectors and cut across national borders in the fight against counterfeiting and piracy. Details on the participation of AEPOC within the Global Congress as well as the AEPOC Anti-Piracy Symposium will be circulated following the next AEPOC meeting on September 21. For more information please see the websites of the Global Congress and BASCAP.
